How to press tofu:

Use firm or extra firm tofu.

  • Drain
  • Wrap drained tofu in thin dish towel or several layers of super absorbent paper towels.
  • Place wrapped tofu on plate. Place additional plate on top of wrapped tofu. Place (2) 16 oz cans on top of plate. This is your weight
  • Drain water that has pooled on the plate. Change towel after 15 minutes and replace plate and weights.
  • Unwrap tofu. Slice into 4 equal pieces (dice if desired…This is a 4 X 4 cut). It is now ready for your favorite marinade or to grill, broil, roast, or saute.
