Dr. Basil M. Yurcisin II, MD, FACS, FASMBS, DABS-FPMBS is a board-certified, fellowship-trained bariatric and general surgeon with over 15 years of experience specializing in minimally invasive weight loss surgery. He holds the advanced designation of Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery with a Focused Practice in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Yurcisin is also a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
Originally from the St. Louis area, Dr. Yurcisin earned his medical degree from Southern Illinois University and completed his fellowship at Duke University Medical Center. After over a decade practicing in New Jersey, he recently joined Rex Bariatric Specialists in Raleigh, NC. He has performed thousands of bariatric procedures and is known for his personalized, compassionate approach to patient care.
